Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (Clsm)
Leica TCS SP5 Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope is an automated inverted microscope platform with an XY automated stage and provides up to 7 lines of laser excitation (the blue diode laser 405 nm, the Argon gas laser 458 nm, 488 nm, 476 and 514 nm, the green Helium Neon gas laser 543 nm, and the red Helium Neon gas laser 633 nm).
Imaging applications include:
- Z galvo stage which provides fast z stacking
- Aquisition of 3D data sets
- High-resolution confocal imaging in both fluorescence and reflected light modes
- Multi-channel detection (up to 4 fluorescent channels can be captured simultaneously)
- Co-localization analysis
- Live cell imaging and quantitative analysis over time
- FRAP analysis
- Fluorescence protein imaging, including GFP, CFP, YFP, RFP, and BiFC analyses
- Transmitted imaging
- Dynamic live cell imaging and kinetic measurements
- Brighter images
- Less photobleaching
